Knife Sharpening Training

Grind Knife Sharpening offers on-site knife sharpening training, virtual training, or a service where I will come to you and train you on your own equipment in your own shop!

On-site sharpening training will be at my shop and on my mobile truck, located in Sioux Falls, SD. This program includes everything you need for equipment, practice knives, and more.

If I come to you to train, you will need to have equipment along with some demo knives, (I may travel with some) along with a suitable environment for training. Contact me at (605) 681-6637 for more details on this option.

- Equipment setup

- Basics of sharpening

- Fundamentals of knife geometry

- How a knife is supposed to work

- Advanced sharpening techniques, thinning, reprofiles, and etc.

- Knife repair and properly fixing broken tips, chips, bolster reduction, and reverse bows

- Lots of hands-on practice

- Culinary vs. EDC sharpening

- Advice for finding commercial and residential customers

- Getting started selling knives

- Many additional optional topics

PRICING:

On-site training is $750 per day

Virtual training is sold in 4-hour blocks for $400 per block

Training at your shop is also $750 per day plus Economy travel and Economy hotel (similar to a Holiday Inn Express) as well as a $500 stipend for travel.

All sharpeners must sign a liability release before training begins.
